![]() This is a quick and easy thing to do and if you haven't yet rebooted your computer since you downloaded the Little Misfortune game often will clear up issues that crop up without the issue recurring. (2) Then exit from the Steam client software, and then reboot your computer. If you haven't done that, please do so now. (1) I'm assuming that you have somehow force closed the game since you originally posted to these forums. You also said that you're using both the keyboard and mouse as your input device in the "Options" of the game. You said that the game became unresponsive for you while you were viewing the dead animal soup. If that's the case, feel free to skip that step, and move on to the next. You also didn't say what troubleshooting you attempted to do if any, so I'll give you all the tips I can think of. ![]() You also didn't give any information about your computer specs or even what platform you're playing the game on (Windows, Mac or Linux.) No one else has reported this issue previously, and I, so far, have not been able to replicate it. I've combined and cross-referred your three posts here. I'm sorry that you got stuck in your gameplay of the Little Misfortune game. The story seems to be a little forceful on presenting certain social views but that is not a problem as long as it is fun and beautiful like Fran Bow. I’m also available for commissions here.I might be forced to refund. If you’d like to read some of my other work, you can find my main blog here. It is rated highly and most people enjoyed it far more than I did. If you’ve already played those two and still want to give this a shot, go for it. If you’re thinking of playing something in this genre of games and have had this one in your basket for a while, I’d suggest hopping over to Fran Bow and giving that one a shot first (or alternatively playing another creepy game I reviewed recently). However, your choices don’t matter as much as the game wants you to think they do, so I would suggest instead of trying to not do the wrong or badly consequential thing, as I feared, just going with what feels natural to you. You’re encountering a lot of different scenarios and your choices “matter”. It is very linear, so going back isn’t an option. The length of gameplay is around three to four hours. Technically there are also two endings, but I would suggest doing what feels natural to you first, without looking up specifics and then if you’d like to see the other ending, trying the game another way. I won’t spoil it for those of you who would love to play it and just haven’t had the time to yet. Sadly, I found myself disappointed by this game’s ending. Fran Bow, however, does have more horror imagery that can be startling and uncomfortable, but it’s hard to be too frightened when you’re looking at a cartoon image (I bet Junji Ito would like a moment with me here). There is no visceral horror in either of these games, but the atmosphere remains unsettling throughout both. Misfortune is given more personality and humour than Fran Bow, who seems mainly traumatized. Most of the game involves you moving forward and making decisions. Where in Fran Bow you’re playing a point and click with the ability to go back and forth, investigate, and unlock the clues to the story, Little Misfortune is a linear adventure game without much exploration or discovery involved. I think Little Misfortune differs in quite a few ways, though. ![]() While reading some of the Steam comments I came across people saying that actually they aren’t just made by the same company, they do exist in the same universe too. That said, I did find myself playing with the knowledge it was made by Killmonday Games. Personally, I find it’s a great time of year to play games such as this, and Little Misfortune has a lot of promise. The aesthetics are simple 2D, drawn in a slightly childish way and is fairly straight forward to play. Both games fall under this genre of what I would call “creepycute” games. Little Misfortune is a game by Killmonday Games, the same people who developed and published Fran Bow.
